BioTweet (n.) (v.)

So what is a "BioTweet". It is a way I introduce all who follow me to a fellow Twitterer by tweeting the content of his/her Twitter bio.

Here is what happens when I biotweet:

Some biotweeted ME!
loopy2cute bio of @SofiaMiller Focus on fitness + personal development. Avid student of sustainability + communities. Right back at ya! :)

Some biotweeted OTHER PEOPLE (making me a trendsetter once again)

Budjette Bio of @dbgrady "Novelist, freelance writer and columnist. Former US Army paratrooper and war vet. New father and really tired" :-)

moomettesgram Bio of JoyntHeir, Author of Be The Weight You Want http://bit.ly/1A15gu

Some RTd my biotweets

FreeBeing RT @SofiaMiller Bio of @ammafrida I am from Iceland and live on a small farm there

RandomReTwitRT @SofiaMiller bio of @wecomparebooks Grad student and owner of WeCompareBooks.com a textbook comparison site. Save tons of cash!

And then some gave me direct feedback

IHospitalitySam@SofiaMiller Hey Sofia - how is your Saturday night? Still diggin' the bio posting idea.

RishiTalreja @SofiaMiller You do a nice thing by including the bio of people you recommend..more people should start doing that :)

From today's flurries of biotweeting:

dcoakley@SofiaMiller What did I do to deserve such a nice gesture? A 'biotweet'... nice.

from @dawizonline
@SofiaMiller TY 4 your Tweeting my Bio Sofia. I am now following you as a direct result. Please visit http://syt.ePublic8.com :o)

from @Manchuriano
@SofiaMiller thank's Sofia you're awesome ;)
I got lots of thank you's.

I think this is a great way to build community, familiarity and more cross linkages, cross polinations, more interconnectedness. I will continue to use this at random AND to rave about someone whose tweets I particularly enjoy like Rishi or Matai...both make me laugh out loud. It's great.

What do you think about BioTweets? Do you use them?

Just for the Record...

@SofiaMiller gets my bronze #FollowFriday recommendation, simply because if she reaches 5K followers by the 31st, she'll write a book ...

@MatchesMalone You're funny. "WHEN" not "if" ! Oh, and I WAS planning on giving it away for free. 5k without BUYING anything from anybody

MatchesMalone@SofiaMiller Well, you've got two plus what's left of this day to get over 550.... Free books are cool. I'll even do a review for you :)

This person has 1990 followers, his/her start date was 9 July 2007. This person, imho, doesn't want to "review" the book, he/she wants to STUDY the book, lol. (Well it will be a recipe worth implementing if more Twitter followers is one's aim.)

It's all good, my TwitterFriend @MatchesMalone. (Revel in all of this back-link love) But lighten up on the jabs. As you see from this post, I'm easily distracted and I've got work to do! You wouldn't want to be non-supportive of a Twitter Buddy, now would you? lol

Anyway here we are...
589 to go BETWEEN today Friday 11:17AM Mexico City time to Sunday 11:50PM Mexico City time.

I can do it, you can do it, we can do it!

Thank you for all of your support and TwitterLove. Next month will NOT be a number-of-Twitter-followers game. But I'll keep tweeting the good stuff. Promise. ;)

5 Easy Steps to a Happy Colon

How to clear your colon and keep it clear, you ask? It's a cinch.

(1) Consume lots of clean water and raw fruits and vegetables
Grow your own, buy organic, or buy the tainted type. Use what is available.

(2) Lemonade Diet (Master Cleanse) 10 to 20 days every 3 or 4 months (buy the book and put the diet days on your calendar. Make sure to allow a week beforehand to get your head right and to get your supplies.)

(3) Retention enemas of water or coffee (NOW you know how I take my coffee)

(4) Psyllium & Bentonite shakes on days when otherwise not eating

(5) Series of colon irrigation treatments using either colema board technique at home or with the help of a machine and a professional colon hydrotherapist.

Adult Play

We don't stop playing because we grow old; We grow old because we stop playing~Shaw (via @MarvinTowler via @Java4Two)

So for sure part of our reverse-aging lifestyle, @LORI_SF, could be PLAY! and although I make my work online a game, my housework a game, it's not quite PHYSICAL enough, not quite laughin-out-loud-often-enough! So...

...while in Mexico from this day forward I will seek and find a dog or child to play tag with for 10 to 20 minutes every day. (Mexico is full of children and dogs so this'll be easy)

What games do you play, physical or otherwise, that make you laught bring you joy?

spornaso@SofiaMiller if this is an open response, then mine are scrabble, nertz (card game), bridge, canasta, boggle, risk, cubris 2, & free cell.

moon@SofiaMiller I play Twitter

spreadingjoy@SofiaMiller I think of myself as a grownup kid. I love games, amusement pks, reading and having fun. I know fun has its place but luv it

spreadingjoy@SofiaMiller I love playing with my kids 18 & 14 - but my 18yr old says I'm starting to throw like a girl..LOL. I try and have fun everyday

~*~
ellenfeinbergHey Sofia - i read your blog - love it - I don't have kids but I play with other peoples children all the time - it's so much fun.

Yep, me too Ellen. It IS so much fun!
~*~
BoomerWoman@SofiaMiller Read your blog. Games? Lately, I've been playing the card came UNO a couple of times a week.

Great. Thanks.

What Exercise Should I Do to Lose 10 Pounds?

EdEntrepreneur@SofiaMiller What is the best exercise for a guy over 40 that wants to shed 10 pounds?

@EdEntrepreneur Given that everyone is different...I would suggest eating less and maintaining your current level of motion,

OR

eating less and increasing your level of motion by incorporating extra motion into your day such as know taking stairs instead of elevators, parking further away from where you are going, interrupting your activity every 90 minutes and going outside for a brief walk and some air, etc.

You could eat less by only eating when you are hungry and stopping when in fact you are not hungry. This happens waaay before that "stuffed" feeling. lol

I lost at least 10 poound in 10 days by eating ONCE every other day. But I don't recommend that.

If you insist on a specific "exercise" to loose weight do ANYTHING (any motion) that you will actually STICK WITH and DO.

Additonal expenditure of energy with the same amount (or less) of (food) consumed will mean that your body, necessarily, has to look to it's own flesh for the energy deficit.

Get it? Let me know if this was helpful, if it made sense to you.

Thanks for the question. I'll incorporate it into my blog.

This was Ed's response:
EdEntrepreneur@SofiaMiller That is very good advice. It is simple and uses plain Common Sense! My kind of diet... http://is.gd/CKVR

I assume he is selling something. So what. If curious check the link and use YOUR common sense.

Ask questions, find your own answers. You can be your own authority. The answers to the questions that you ask, that really matter to you, will be most important to you so don't rely on anyone else. You've got more at stake than they do.

Paulien_HRT @SofiaMiller: Anyone else having reservations about the efficacy of FollowFriday? <-- Not if you share WHY you are suggesting someone !!

Personally, I am going to suggest following individuals, individually whenever so moved, whatever day of the week. I will continue to use the FollowFriday App to update my "People to Follow on Twitter" list linked in my bio

Of course if anyone includes me in their FollowFriday list, line up, parade, chorus line, whatever I'll send collective thank you's on Saturday morning.

All togehter this could take me 10 to 15 minutes/week. Perfect. :)
